Namu Korean Kitchen sits on Hope Street as a cozy spot where authentic Korean flavors meet a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place that feels busy enough to buzz with quiet energy but never rushed—ideal for settling in after a long day or sharing a comforting meal with friends or family.

The menu leans into Korean home-style cooking with highlights like sizzling Dolsot Bibimbap bowls, rich stews such as Kimchi Jjigae and Sundubu Jjigae, and approachable dishes like Pork Jajangmyeon and crispy Korean chicken. Notably, the food often arrives bubbling hot, which adds an engaging, tactile element to the experience. Vegetable-packed sides, including Fried Seaweed Rolls and Korean Pancakes, round out the meal with familiar homey touches.

This is a spot where the attentive yet relaxed service underlines a dedication to making guests feel at ease—and while dishes are freshly prepared (so occasional wait times can stretch a little), the quality and authenticity of the meals suggest it’s worth staying put. The interior blends warmly lit, friendly vibes with subtle nods to Korean culture that keep the focus on comfort rather than fuss.

Locals and visitors looking for genuine Korean comfort food will find Namu Korean Kitchen a fitting choice, especially on colder evenings when a steaming bowl of soup and rice feels particularly welcoming. It’s equally suited to students or anyone after a casual meal option away from the typical city center fare, with reasonably priced menus that encourage tasting multiple dishes.

Whether you’re keen to sit in a quieter corner with a bowl of Soondubu Jjigae or share plates of Spicy Cheese Rice Cake and Bibimbap with friends, Namu offers a practical and heartfelt take on Korean kitchen cooking right in the heart of Glasgow’s West End.

I love jajangmyeon, so I was happy to stumble upon Namu Korean Kitchen. The food was good, the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere had a lot of charm. A solid spot for Korean comfort food—I’m glad I found it.

Absolutely amazing Korean food. Got the 3 course for £18.95 with dumplings, rice cakes & then a katsu curry. The desserts were amazing too. Service is a little slow due to everything being prepared fresh but it’s so worth the wait!

Literally amazing . All the food tasted so authentic and the atmosphere was so friendly and warm. It's honestly such a great place and I'd definitely recommend if you like Korean food. Personally, I think it's one of the best places out there due to the cleanliness, affordable prices, attentive/friendly staff members and quality of the food (the fact that it came while it was bubbling was so fun to watch!!). I'd highly recommend get the hotteok as I really loved that!!

First day at Uni, so spoiled the new student with lovely Korean food at Namu before she gets used to beans on toast and pasta :D we went for the very reasonably priced 2 Course Menu and both had the Korean Crispy Chicken to start, which was fabulous, the dipping sauce was divine. Slightly messed up my main order thinking that Glass Noodles would be thin and similar to thin rice noodles but was wrong, wasn't a fan of the texture but that's on me. Daughter's black bean sauce with chicken and sliced cucumber was excellent. Really quick service and very friendly, definitely recommend but read the menu (or ask!) carefully!

During a cold night, I was craving for some hot soup and rice, and a quiet corner for me to just chill after a long day of work. Thanks for the great service, the soondubu, rice, and banchan was perfect, the music and atmosphere was perfect too - it felt as if I've teleported to Seoul for a moment it tasted like home (which is funny because I'm not from Korea, I'm actually from Singapore, but I was really craving for some Korean soup that night) The ladies working at the restaurant were really kind and lovely, asking every guest how was the food, and smiled very kindly :) On a cold lonely night, thanks for showing the warmth and kindness I needed that day I'll definitely come back again when I'm ever back in Glasgow again! and if any of my friends are craving for authentic Korean food in Glasgow, I'd definitely recommend this place! :)

A warm and welcoming spot with delicious food and great service. The mushrooms were crispy, and bibimbap sauce as well as the kimchi were definitely the highlights - the flavours were well-balanced and complimented the meal. It was also my first time trying hotteok and it was amazing, went really well with the ice cream. This will be my go-to for future Glasgow visits.
